Crews in Northeast Missouri spent their Saturday cleaning up the mess of Friday night's winter weather.
Crews from Robert's Garage and Towing Company, troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and firefighters from the New London Fire Department all were out today to help unload a tractor trailer full of ice cream that slid off the road last night.
The truck smashed through a guard rail as it tumbled down the embankment, flipping on it's side.
"Well this truck is off the bank here so we're going to have to unload the load and put it in another trailer and then we'll bring it up empty," said Troy Robert, owner of Robert's Garage and Towing.
Roberts said the crash is a tough one to deal with.
"Well the difficulty is the guard rail, then it's down a steep embankment, and it's also loaded, the trailer is compromised, it's gonna be rough," said Roberts.
Roberts said before they can lift up the truck, they have to pull the cargo out.
The crews' goal is salvaging what they can of the ice cream inside.
They said the weather helps with keeping the product stable.
Police said no one was hurt in the accident, but Roberts said it wasn't the only crash they dealt with overnight.
"We had a tractor trailer jack knife, had a few cars off in the ditch. It's just a normal day when the roads are slick," said Roberts.
MSHP Troop B responded to around half a dozen crashes in Northeast Missouri Friday and Saturday.
