American ice-cream company Ben & Jerry’s has just launched a vegan ice cream burger. The new dessert is part of a limited-edition World Vegan Month menu only available at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops in London, Rotterdam, and Berlin.
Ben & Jerry’s UK is working in collaboration with Henry Firth and Ian Theasby – the plant-based chefs behind “BOSH!” The British duo are best known for their innovative vegan recipes and creative attitude to plant-based cooking. BOSH! reached more than half a billion people in its first year alone and helped Ben & Jerry’s design the new UK vegan menu.
“We’ve teamed up with Henry and Ian to bring you an autumn-inspired, plant-powered dessert euphoria to our Soho Scoop Shop for World Vegan Month,” Ben & Jerry’s UK wrote in an Instagram post.
The new desserts include the “Im-BOSH-ible Ice Cream Burger;” a sweet brioche bun filled with Ben & Jerry’s and topped with speculoos spread, salted caramel, crumbled speculoos cookies, and vegan whipped topping.
Also available is a “Toffee Apple Crunch Sundae” – cookie dough ice cream, crumbled cookies, pecan granola, caramel, and apple sauce. Caramel popcorn and dehydrated apple crisps top the sundae.
Ben & Jerry’s has also added a “Campfire Snuggle Hot Chocolate” made with melted chocolate-fudge-brownie ice cream, topped with cinnamon, marshmallows, caramel popcorn, and whipped topping.
Demand For Non-Dairy
The demand for dairy-free ice cream is growing as consumers move away from traditional dairy products and toward plant-based alternatives. Large ice cream brands such as Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum, Cornetto, and Halo Top have now all launched dairy-free products.
Research from Global Market Insights shows that the plant-based ice cream market could reach $1 billion by 2024. This reflects the consumer shift toward “innovative products and flavors” – such as dairy-free Ben & Jerry’s.
The company now lists five different vegan options on its UK website and has launched 12 different plant-based flavors overall. Participating American Scoop Shops celebrated World Vegan Day on 1st November by giving away free servings of non-dairy ice cream.
The new ice cream burger is available from Ben & Jerry’s in, London from November 1st – 30th for World Vegan Month.
