5 Places To Find Spiked Ice Cream In Dallas - D Magazine

Now in October, the heat has started to dissipate but it’s still nice enough to sit outside without the fear of melting. At least when the sun is out. If you’re over 21, you can soak up the last of these rays with an indulgent spiked ice cream. You’re now able to find them from Uptown to North Oak Cliff to Lower Greenville and Deep Ellum. Here are five of your best choices.

Tipsy Scoop

New to the area is New York-based chain Tipsy Scoop. The Dallas location is one of only three in the country. There is a seasonal list of rotating cocktails on Sundays, but Tipsy Scoop also has a menu of 12 standard flavors. With an alcohol content of around 5 percent, a cone is roughly the equivalent of a pint of beer. Standout flavors were dark chocolate whiskey salted caramel, red velvet martini, and cake batter martini. The “barlour” can be found at the back of candy emporium It’s Sugar in Victory Park, but there’s no seating inside.

Picolé Pops

Brazilian popsicle stand Picolé Pops opened in 2017. There are now two locations, one in Bishop Arts and another in Deep Ellum. They’ve expanded their menu from three original types: fruity, creamy, and alcohol-infused. The menu currently features blackberry mojito, whiskey chocolate, lime margarita, and strawberry daiquiri, among others.

Select Start

Select Start filled the void left by booze-infused milkshake joint the Pharmacy in Deep Ellum. Expect to make a night of it: the bar also functions as an arcade. Grab a spiked cherry Dr Pepper float and hit the pinball machines.

Dizzibrands

DizziBrands has been serving up “lickable liquor” since 2018. Their ice cream packs a punch: each has about a shot of liquor in it, and depending on the flavor, the ABV ranges between 10 percent and 17 percent. Pints and popsicles are available online, or at their tasting room by appointment only. Be sure to check out their seasonal pumpkin spice ice cream. It’s an excellent addition to a Thanksgiving dessert spread.

Top Round

Top Round, in Old East Dallas, offers more substantial fare. Diners can grab a slow-cooked roast beef sandwich, curly fries, and top it all off with a boozy frozen custard. The two current flavors are salted caramel with Bailey’s and cinnamon toast crunch with Bailey’s and Fireball.
